Welcome to the 105th year of the Grand Chapter of Kentucky Order of the Eastern Star. Our Grand Family has just been installed into their respective offices and we are ready to begin our “Angels are God’s Lighthouses” year.
This year our special objectives are the Eastern Star Home, our Youth and Multiple Sclerosis Research.
Since the Eastern Star Home is in need of a small bus, we have taken on the huge challenge to raise enough money to purchase one. It will take every one of us working together to realize this dream.
We are asking all of our Sisters and Brothers to make a special tax deductible donation to this fund, raise funds within your Chapters, and participate in the fundraisers planned by the members of this special committee.
If you make an individual donation of at least $25.00, the committee will send you a special pin. If you make a donation of at least $25.00, and since the cost of the pin cannot be claimed on your taxes, you must subtract $5.00 from your donation to allow for the cost of the pin. Please mail your checks to the Eastern Star Home, designated for the Bus Fund.
I want to commend the members who work with our Masonic Youth Groups. Each of us needs to look up to these young people and try to “catch” a little of their enthusiasm. I can promise that we will learn more from them that we can ever teach.
In lieu of corsages this year, I would like for a donation to be made to the Kentucky Chapter for MS Research. As I have MS and could “pop” out of remission at any time, I am hoping that we can raise funds to help find a cure. Since I was diagnosed 15 years ago, great strides have been taken in controlling this disease. I believe we are close to finding that cure.
